Samson: Iraq receives $ 18 billion from IMF
5th March, 2017
Iraqi Parliamentary Economy and Investment Commission disclosed that Iraq received 18 billion dollars from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on installments.
Member of the Commission Najeeba Najeeb added that 9 billions of this figure were paid to Kuwait for 1990 war compensations.
On the other hand, she added that Iraq signed an agreement with the IMF to reform the financial system in the country.
Iraq received this amount on three installments, as she added.

And how would having dinars in lieu of USDs help Iran ? .... unless dinars have new value over a program rate ? .... equal to or higher than USD ..... wonder how this will work ... IMO

The very near future is likely to see a sea-change in central bankers' attitude to the gold allocation in their reserves. The failure of G20 monetary policy since the financial crisis is causing a general rethink, which may eventually lead to a new policy direction.
For now, that is undecided, beyond a growing acceptance that today's monetary policy does not work and the assumptions of recent decades, that gold as money should be phased out, might have been a mistake.
The idea, that Western central banks could banish gold from the monetary scene over time, has been disrupted by the persistence of Asian demand, fuelled by the remarkable economic progress of ex-communist states embracing capitalist methods.
