• Metals are made from non-renewable minerals extracted from the earth.
• Recycling metal cans reduces mining wastes, air pollution, and water pollution.
• Metal can be recycled infinitely.
•
The only metal that can be placed in recycling containers is cans (soup, drink, hairspray, etc.).  To find out where to recycle other metal objects (wire hangers, lawn furniture, aluminum foil, car parts, etc.) visit HamiltonCountyRecycles.org.

To receive free technical assistance, indoor recycling containers, and signage to start or improve your school recycling program, email Cher Mohring or call 513-946-7737.

CINCINNATI STATE FIELD DAY PROGRAM
Cincinnati State is hosting a free field day for high school students and their teachers on April 13. The Environmental Engineering faculty will partner with local business, industry, and community leaders to provide high school students with examples of how they can reduce their contribution to detrimental environmental impacts and work towards a sustainable lifestyle.

Students will also be introduced to the many environmental careers available to them and explore the ways that these careers promote environmental stewardship in our daily lives. This will be an excellent opportunity for students to get a sneak peek at the labs and equipment used in the Environmental Engineering Technology program as well as to get an introduction to college life. If you would like to attend with a group of students, or want more information, contact Dr. Ann Gunkel at 513-569-1783 or Ann Fallon at 513-569-1750. Space is limited so register early.
