Out and Proud Program Submission

Out and Proud Week presents the largest opportunity for community visibility on the UC San Diego campus. It is a week-long opportunity, to be in community, learn about the community, and reflection on the struggles and achievements of LGBTQIA-identified students, staff, and faculty and our allies. 

The LGBT Resource Center is doing a call out for programs, events, educational opportunities, and gatherings that represent the mission of Out and Proud Week.

14th Annual Overnight Program

From April 6th-8th, we will be hosting our 14th Annual Overnight program for UC San Diego-admitted high school seniors. Within this program, prospective students will spend three days and two nights with an on-campus undergraduate who will show them  a more personalized experience of UC San Diego.

Please join us for our spring networking event for LGBTQ graduate students, postdocs and professionals at all career levels. 
This event is 21+ and IDs will be checked. This event typically has around 50-80 attendees.





2017 PFLAG Scholarships

Do you need money for college?

Since 1998, PFLAG San Diego County has overseen the awarding of over 90 scholarships in the amount of $131,000 to LGBT scholars. The PFLAG San Diego county scholarships are open until  April 15, 2017!

10th Annual Queer and Asian Conference

We are now opening registration for the 10th annual Queer and Asian Conference ! We encourage queer Asians and our allies from everywhere to come attend. This year's theme for QACON17 is Enough. As such, we will be exploring, reflecting, and learning about our community and identities to empower, heal, and fight for ourselves, our community, and other marginalized communities.
 
QACON  admission is open to any individual who expresses interest in the issues or the community, and the entire conference - registration, volunteer housing, keynote speakers, workshops, and two included meals - is completely free

BlaqOut Conference
Tues. April 21, 2017 - Thurs. April 23, 2017

The three day conference is designed to create a networking, empowerment and critical community building opportunity for folks within the Black/African Diaspora and LGBTQIA+ community. This is a structured conference featuring workshops from undergraduate and graduate scholars, staff, community members and activists with identities within the BlaQueer Diaspora. 

We would like to announce that this year's BlaqOut Conference registration will be free. The theme of this years conference is I Love My BlaQness and Yours Too!

Express Yourself
Thursdays

A BRAVE SPACE to express your queerness in art form.
Materials will be provided. No artistic experience
necessary.


Queer Meditation Circle and Conversation
Fridays
2-3pm, Cross-Cultural Center, Tranquility Room

A meditation space for students who identify as queer. We will have mindfulness meditation, journeywork, healing exercises, etc. Come for the meditation, stay for the conversation.

Come de-stress and take a break from work or school with the Cross! Take home whatever you create, whether that is a picture frame, wooden box, painting, etc. All supplies are provided and all are welcome.

Transgender and Gender Non-conforming Clothing Swap
Sunday I  March 19 I  11am-6pm I Women's Center 

Come take part in an amazing clothing swap for trans people! The goal of the clothing swap is to enable trans people to have access to clothing that matches their gender.
This event is geared toward queer and transgender people throughout San Diego, particularly students and those who are low-income and might not be able to afford clothes that they feel comfortable in to accurately present their gender. However, this is open to trans, questioning, and gender non-conforming people from all walks of life.

All clothes here will be up for grabs, but you do not need to bring clothes in order to take clothes!

Donations will be collected until 3/17 at the following locations:
- UCSD Women's Center
- UCSD Raza Resource Centro
- The Center in Hillcrest
- The Pride Center at SDSU

Smoothie Day

Another Smoothie Day is right around the corner. Grads meet us at the hill by Main Gym again for a small work break and a free smoothie. There is always great conversation under a warm sun and with a cold drink. 
 
Only 1 in 10 people from low-income families are able to have a bachelor's degree, while the share of jobs that require one has doubled. 

We are the Educational Advancement Program (EAP) of UCSD, and we are here to address the issue at its root cause, high school. Join us by filling out this simple application here
