From the Principal's Desk
Dear BSS Families,

This weekend our veggies from the hydroponic garden tower will be given out at Saturday's food pantry's distribution.  This goal that the produce from the garden would be used to support the food pantry has been realized.  We are helping the community to healthier food choices.  Our hope is for us to grow more produce and distribute it to more people in our community. Keep spreading the word about our awesome school!

Middle School Myth Busters
If cereal has iron in it, could it picked up with a magnet? Students in Mythbusters this week put this theory to the test!

We selected a cereal, such as Total that is high in iron content. We tested the cereal in its original flake form, then we ground the flakes by hand using a mortar and pestle, cereal flakes were put in a Ninja blender to make fine cereal powder and finally students also tried to "filter out" the iron in water.  More testing needs to take place, put fine black powder could be "felt" on the high powered magnetic when testing the cereal powder!
