Four Florida Top Five Finishes For Ryan Millington And Team Johnson Motorsports

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, FL - (February 26, 2017)  Ryan Millington and Team Johnson Motorsports had a strong week of Pro Late Model competition at New Smyrna Speedway in Florida this past week, scoring four top five finishes and three top five starts.

Millington, 15, was racing at the track for the first time in his career, taking part in the week-long Motorsports buffet known as "Speedweeks" where tracks thorughout Florida hold races for a variety of different racing divisions.

"The track took some getting used to," Millington said. "But I had a lot of fun racing for Team Johnson in the My Computer Career / POW-MIA Freedom Car.  We had motor problems in our primary car early week but got the backup car running really well."

Elaborating on each day's race a bit, Millington continued. "We switched to the backup for Saturday's race and qualified third, but the race rained out.  It was made up on Monday, and we got sixth.  We were off Tuesday and Wednesday."

"Thursday, our qualifying was rained out.  We ran two 30-lap features.  We finished ninth and fourth.  Then, on Friday we got the car dialed in and it was super fast."

Millington qualified second, and ran strong the entire 100-lap race to finish fourth.  That was the third top five finish of the week for the team.

"Friday was fun. Thanks to Neal Cantor for spotting for me in that race.  Saturday, we tied for the fastest time with one of the legends of the South, Jeff Choquette.  That was a real honor for me, and we were running right with him in the race when our motor started missing.  We hung on for fourth, but I really believe we had Freedom Car to win that night.  I can't thank My Computer Career, the POW-MIA family and Team Johnson Motorsports enough for taking a chance on me and giving me the opportunity to go down there and race their car."

Millington's next race will be this Saturday, March 4th at Hickory Motor Speedway.  The race will be his first of the year in his own NASCAR Whelen All-American Series late model stock car, which will also carry the My Computer Career / POW-MIA livery and the number 76 in 2017.
