The Center for Ethics and Public Engagement
is pleased to announce the two Peace Scholars for 2017. Bakhita Soares ’18 and Billy Jeide ’18 will join Peace Scholars from seven other U.S. colleges and universities for a summer of study in Norway. They will spend one week at the Nansen Center for Peace and Dialogue in Lillehammer, and six weeks at the University of Oslo, studying issues related to dialogue and conflict resolution.
The Center for Ethics and Public Engagement is pleased to announce the appointment of Prof. Beth Lynch (Biology) as a CEPE Faculty Research Fellow for the academic years 2017-18 and 2018-19. During that time, the CEPE will provide support for Prof. Lynch to conduct research on the topic of how human-caused environmental changes affect the emergence and spread of disease. Her project will culminate in the creation of a new course on “The Ecology of Emerging Zoonotic Diseases.”
