New Daycare Facility to Open in June
For the past year the Chamber has been working in partnership with the Hutchinson Community Foundation, United Way of Reno County, and Our Redeemer Lutheran Church to help address the challenges and needs related to daycare services  for the Hutchinson workforce. Through this partnership, in June 2017 Our Redeemer Lutheran Church will be opening the Early Learning Center (ELC) that will offer full-time childcare services for children aged 6-weeks to 5 years. Once completed the facility will have the capacity of serving 84 children and their families, and will employ the equivalent of 17 full-time staff.

The school recognizes the importance of a quality, age-appropriate early childhood program in making a lasting future impact on children and their families by ministering to their specific needs and focusing on the whole child's deve lopment. By creating a loving, nurturing, Christ-centered environment and placing special emphasis on the social-emotional skills that are needed for school readiness, the ELC will join the community in preparing students for a successful future. Through its innovative design, research-based curriculum, and caring teachers and volunteers, the ELC will help meet the needs of many families in Hutchinson.

For more information regarding Our Redeemer Early Learning Center please contact Brenda Trunkhill at orlhutchelc@gmail.com or (620) 259-7111.
Exciting Changes Happening to the NJCAA Men's Basketball Championship
New changes to the Hutchinson Sports Arena mean new upgrades to the 70th Annual NJCAA DI Men's Basketball Championship, known as "The Tournament", hosted by the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68.  Mark your calendars for March 20-25, and plan to celebrate 69 years of top college basketball at the Sports Arena!
New branding for The Tournament was unveiled in late 2016, which was the result of a collaboration between the American Legion, NJCAA, and Hutchinson CVB.  Additionally, a new tournament website and Twitter account will be launched soon, which you can check out at www.NJCAAHutchTourney.com and @HutchTourney on Twitter.

Tournament attendees will have the opportunity to see a refreshed tournament program, new tournament signage, and upgraded sponsor recognition on the HD video boards and scorers tables.  For fans that can't make it to the Sports Arena for every game, all sessions will be live streamed on NJCAATV.com.  This year there will be 3-4 camera angles to enhance the overall viewing experience.

Superior Boiler Works Celebrates 100 Years During 2017
Throughout 2017, Superior Boiler Works, Inc., will celebrate 100 years as a continuously operating business. Only 1 percent of all companies make it to the century mark as continuous operating businesses.

"We're extremely excited to celebrate our centennial throughout 2017," said Superior Boiler Works CEO Doug Wright. "This is a monumental milestone. Very few companies find the right formula to make it this long, and we have. It's a testament to our entire team of employees now and before us. The common characteristic is they always listened to what the marketplace and our customers were asking of us, and that's what we delivered."

To celebrate its centennial anniversary, the company plans several events throughout the year involving employees, customers and friends of the company.
