It doesn't take a lot of space to provide a cozy spot for growing some useful plants in a not-so-sunny window. As an herbalist, I am a big fan of growing a small winter kitchen garden, full of my favorite culinary medicinals. A strong thyme infusion - a tea steeped 20-30 minutes - is helpful for knocking out a throat infection, and steeped sage leaves relieve what is left of my hot flashes.
