Welcome to the Special Gala Edition of the Buzz!
Please join us on April 1st for our annual Gala!
Letter from the Chairs

We need your support! The gala is the school's most important fundraiser and right now barely over a quarter of our school families have purchased tickets. Not only is this a way to raise funds to ensure your children receive upgrades to their school experience and the best teachers in the diocese, but this is going to be a fun evening out! Where else would you be able to hang out with friends and sample food and beverages from around the globe? Help us in making this an evening to remember.

In appreciation of your support,
Eileen Bliss, Michele Robbins, and Heather Terreri

Start the Bidding!

Our online bidding for our unique school specific items will open on March 15th and run through the 24th. Hopefully you and your kids have already scoped out the flyer from the Wednesday folder last week and have your ideas for bidding. To get started, go to http://tinyurl.com/Knights17 and get your account in just a few simple steps. Please note there will be a 2% credit card service fee added to your bill. Since this is a new process, here are a few tips to help guide you through the process.
  • Each item will open at a certain bid price. The first bidder must use this as their minimum open bid.

  • $10 is the minimum bid increase. If the last bid was $150, you must bid at least $160.

  • There is a reserve bid price. This means that the bidding must reach to at least this reserve price, but can continue to go over the reserve until the auction closes at the highest bidder. If the bidding does not meet the reserve, then it will not be closed out in the online auction and will be included in the silent auction at the Gala.
    • For example, if a reserve bid is $250 and the bidding only gets to $200 by Susie, then that item will open at the silent auction with an opening bid of $200 from Susie. If Susie is not at the Gala, then she will not be able to continue her bidding and the item becomes open to anyone in attendance at the Gala.
    • As another example, if the reserve bid is $250 and the bidding war continues online, Joe might place the closing bid at midnight on the 24th for $400 to win the item.
  • Parents should consider pooling their money to win an item for a group or class of kids. Majority of the items are experiences for multiple students so invite some friends to participate with you. One person will need to act on behalf of the group as the bidder.

  • You will see items from the giving tree. These are items requested by our teachers for their classrooms for your student's use. These items are available for "purchase" and are not a bidding item.
  • Each gala we include a fund a need, which is a larger ticket item that the school needs. This year, the school is in need of a set of iPads as well as a laminator and white boards. You submit a flat fee that you want to donate to the fund a need.
50/50 Raffle

Get out there and sell your raffle tickets! We've only had a few students turn in their sold tickets and our pot is already at about $1,000. With every family's help we can get this pot up to $20,000 and someone will walk away with a great cash prize. Send in what you have even if you're not done selling so everyone can see how quickly our pot can grow. Tickets are $10 and the winner does not need to be present. Reach out to Rachel Kramer rachelo.kramer@gmail.com if you need more tickets. Here is more information about the raffle.
