In this issue of my (occasional) newsletter, we'll discuss microneedling, which is becoming ever more popular.  Cosmetic Acupuncture and Microneedling complement each other nicely.  The  Cosmetic Acupuncture targets specific areas, while microneedling stimulates collagen for a smoother look.
Migraine and sensory hypersentivity, is an area of great interest to me, and we will look at that, also.
Case studies of Acupuncture for constipation, vertigo, and irritable bowel disease discussed below.

Live Longer With Exercise
1. Acupuncture included in best care for chronic back pain, from CBS news.

  2.  Animal study showing that exercise can reverse some signs of aging.  Common sense, but good to see.

Cosmetic Acupuncture and Microneedling
Girl getting acupuncture
This post discusses a recent article about microneedling and how the shopping channels are now cashing in on the popularity of this safe, low cost way to smoother skin.  This article in a popular acupuncture journal gives an in depth run down of the advantages of facial acupuncture versus microneedling.  Microneedling is safe for home use and is a great adjunct to Cosmetic Acupuncture or on its own.

This is the device I use and recommend from Skinmedix.  I'm happy to get one for you if you're interested.

I'm including some stress reduction data (because I just can't resist) on a few of my cosmetic acupuncture cases here.  As you can see, they come in for facial results, but also have lovely reduction in their stress response over time.  Beautiful!

Migraine and Sensory Hypersensitivity
Migraines can be disabling!!
Migraine patients treated successfully with acupuncture, often report that they will still experience some of the associated symptoms of a migraine, but not the pain of the migraine.  It's as though they are still triggered, but the migraine does not develop fully.  In this study, the researchers found that the fMRI patterns changed between migraines, which makes some sense in what is seen clinically.  The patients become sturdier, more resilient, and less sensitive to triggers. Sensory hypersensitivity in Migraine patients is well documented.
As you decrease your stress, you become more resilient, sturdier.  As shown below.
