ICAO Flight Plans, New FlyQ EFB, NW Aviation Show, Patents
Flight Log
Feb. 2017
Dear fellow pilot,

Busy, busy, busy here at Seattle Avionics and a tradeshow this weekend so I'm going to keep it very short.  Quick summary of what we're up to:
  • ICAO flight planning now available from some of our apps, the rest coming very soon.
  • See us at the Northwest Aviation Conference and Trade Show THIS WEEKEND.
  • New versions of FlyQ EFB, FlyQ Pocket, and FlyQ Online.  Voyager almost ready, too
  • Filing multiple patents for our new app.
I'm Steve Podradchik, the CEO here. I write the newsletter so email me personally if there is something you'd like me to cover next month.
ICAO Flight Plan
ICAO Flight Planning

I admit it; we thought this would be much easier than it turned out to be but it's almost done and easy and transparent for you.  FlyQ EFB and FlyQ Online are now fully ICAO compliant.  FlyQ Pocket's ICAO support goes into beta today and should be released very early next week.  And Voyager's ICAO support is about 50% done. More details on our Blog.

2017 NW Aviation Show
NW Aviation Show This Weekend

In Washington, Oregon, or Idaho?  Fly or drive to Puyallup, WA this weekend for the terrific Northwest Aviation Conference and Trade Show.  We've been there since before some of you were born (well...) and it's a great show.  Meet the team, go to great seminars, and get our usual great show-only specials!

FlyQ Family
New Versions of FlyQ EFB and FlyQ Pocket

In addition to adding ICAO planning, the new version of FlyQ EFB (2.4.5) has a number of very significant memory reductions and stability improvements that are especially crucial for ADS-B users (and even more so for Stratux users).   See our blog for more details or information on the free update.

FlyQ Pocket's new release, now in beta testing, includes ICAO planning and adds native iPad support (that is, it's no longer is an oversized iPhone app).  The new FlyQ Pocket also includes support for both Portrait (vertical) and Landscape (horizontal) orientations on the iPhone and iPad.  We expect this version to be released to the public next week.
Top Secret Project
Patents and Our Secret App

As before, I can't say much about our new app except that it is fundamentally unlike anything you've ever seen in aviation. As such, I've been learning a lot about software patents and we'll be filing two of them in the very near future.  Oh, and we're getting close to a beta release...
