Join United Way's Community Investment Team!
United Way of Monroe County is looking for volunteers to assist in this year's Community Investment process. This is an opportunity for individuals to become directly involved in determining how United Way invests the funds raised this year for specific programs that align with the priorities identified through our community needs assessment. If you have ever been interested in knowing more about non-profit programs serving the greatest needs in the county - and influencing how we invest in those programs - this is your chance!

Volunteers can join either a Program Panel to review and make recommendations related to program proposals submitted by local non-profits seeking funding and support, or the  Finance Panel, to review the financial documentation associated with submitted proposals. The process includes groups meetings with other volunteers, and site visits to ensure that the dollars invested in partner programs are generating real results and positive impact in our community.

To register for either the Program or Finance Panels, visit www.unitedwaymonroe.org and click "Volunteer". The deadline to register for the finance panel is Friday, February 17, 2017; the deadline to register for the program panel is Friday, March 3, 2017.

United Way is seeking applications from qualified 501c3 non-profits serving Monroe County

United Way of Monroe County is seeking applications from qualified 501c3 non-profit organizations serving Monroe County for the implementation of specific and targeted programs that align with United Way's new Impact Initiatives.

According to President and CEO of United Way of Monroe County, Michael Albert, "Monroe County's high cost of living and relatively low wages creates a situation where regular people are having trouble getting by. With half of all renters in the county spending more than a third of their income on housing, other need areas such as food, child care and healthcare are suffering," said Albert. "If we focus our efforts and unite to improve the financial stability of individuals and families in the community, we can actually start to 'move the needle' on issues affecting those who are struggling."

Applications are due by February 13 and will be reviewed by volunteer panels with support from United Way's Community Investment Committee. Agencies can apply under any of United Way of Monroe County's four Impact Initiatives.

To view the full Request for Applications or to apply, visit:  www.unitedwaymonroe.org. Deadline is February 13th, 2017.
