A USDA Rural Development Water & Environmental Program Consultant Training will be held on Tuesday, April 25. Pre-registration is encouraged and can be done by here. There is no charge for this training.  
Backflow Prevention Workshop

Ground Water Rule from the ground up
On December 10, 2009, the Ground Water Rule went into effect. Why another Rule? What does it do? Who is effected and how? Join us as we review the basics of the GWR and answers to these important questions. EPA rolls out UCMR4
All utilities greater than 10,000 in population must participate in the UCMR4 monitoring along with a select number of utilities serving populations under 10,000. An overview of UCMR4 requirements can be found HERE.

President Trump strikes
controversial EPA WOTUS Rule 
On February 28, the President issued an executive order that will scale back the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' (Corps) hotly contested "waters of the United States" (WOTUS) rule.  The Order instructs EPA and the Corps to balance the interests between protecting waters from pollution and promoting economic growth while respecting the States' role under the Constitution ( White House Press Release).
EPA says Supreme Court precedent
supports quick rework of CWA Rule 
EPA in a newly signed Federal Register notice says prior Supreme Court rulings give agencies freedom to quickly revise or withdraw the Obama-era Clean Water Act (CWA) jurisdiction rule in favor of a less expansive policy based purely on shifting legal interpretations, despite the existing factual record justifying the current rule.
