Update on Downtown Ordinances:
Yes on banning dogs; No on banning smoking
We are pleased to announce some progress on our work towards a safe, healthy, inviting and prosperous downtown for all. At the city council's work session last Wednesday, the council voted to put in place a pilot ordinance banning dogs downtown with exemptions for service animals, downtown residents, and employees.  (More details on the ordinance and council vote.)

We are anxious to see how it makes downtown more inviting and improves public safety this summer. We are well aware that this will not be a "silver bullet." We will continue to convene downtown partners and interested parties to work on additional initiatives, projects, or ordinances that will help improve downtown.
