Tom Murn
Tom Murn believes his  technology will take vending to a new level.
Vending technology continues to evolve. Artificial intelligence (AI), robotics and Internet of Things (IoT) technology are finding application in vending and creating more efficient machines that improve customer satisfaction.

Tom Murn, owner of the Answer Group, a Farmingdale, New York based vending, micro market and refreshment services provider, has launched a "next generation" vending technology that he believes has the potential to disrupt consumer goods distribution. His new company, ViaTouch Inc., has developed an engine "turbocharged with its own payment, and back-end enterprise server with super administrative features and customized customer portals," according to a company statement.

ViaTouch plans to introduce its technology at the upcoming National Automatic Merchandising OneShow in Las Vegas.

ViaTouch machines feature "Intelliwall" technology. The Intelliwall software has "multi-sensor checkout" capability.

Google Maps
Google Maps lists route schedules and includes directions.
Google Maps for Work, a division of Google, Inc., has partnered with Vagabond to assist vending operators' route trucks and inventory.
Google Maps' knowledge of location addresses, fastest routes and access to the latest on what's happening on the roads provides helpful insight for handling the complexities of fleet management.

Google Maps traveled throughout North and South America in 2016 learning about the vending industry through its collaboration with Vagabond. More recently, Google Maps has added Vagabond to its customers section. The section highlights the ways the vending industry's technology providers take advantage of Google Maps APIs to pinpoint locations, schedule dynamically, plot live machine information into map formats, and route truck fleets.

Google Maps noted the Vagabond suite improves merchandising decisions, reducing time spent servicing machines and eliminating theft.
