By now you may have seen Paddywax's products at national chain stores like West Elm, Nordstrom, Barnes & Noble, Crate & Barrel, Z Gallerie, Paper Source
and smaller
boutiques around Nashville, but you may not have realized that Paddywax is proud to call Nashville, TN, home. Their wax blended candles are hand poured right here in Nashville and sold extensively on a national level.
We spoke with
Jinanne
West, who is part of the leadership team at Paddywax, about their decision to install a 50kW solar array. According to
Jinanne
, Paddywax had been looking for
ways to reduce their carbon footprint while taking advantage of lowering overhead costs
and saw an opportunity to do so utilizing solar generation at their production facility and warehouse.
"Paddywax had been considering solar for the past year, and were excited
when LightWave Solar designed a solar array in a way that made sense both financially and environmentally
," says West.
Paddywax's system will generate about 64,500 kilowatt-hours per year
which generates significant
energy savings every year.
In addition
, Paddywax
believes
the available tax credit made the decision a strong financial choice.
For other businesses thinking about installing solar, West advises that finding the right solar installer is extremely important.
"LightWave Solar operated professionally, communicated clearly and performed construction on time and in budget," says West.
LightWave Solar commissioned the system with Nashville Electric Service earlier this month.
