Do you care about energy conservation, and want your classroom to commit to using energy more efficiently? You can s tart saving energy in your classroom right now with these energy saving tips, and Register today for our Green Classrooms program to engage your students in becoming stewards today!
  • Layer on another pair of socks, an extra sweater and a scarf to keep you cozy instead of turning up the thermostat.
  • Use the sun's heat to warm your house by leaving window shades or blinds open during the daytime.  
  • Try washing only full loads of clothing in cold water (90% of the energy your washer uses is to heat the water!).
  • Plug items into a power strip that you can switch off when electronics are not in use.

Green Classrooms at Work

Marla Reimer, Susan Kelley and Emily Hie's 1st grade classrooms at Kendall Elementary just completed the Waste Prevention program!

The first graders performed a litter clean up around their school and learned how harmful litter can be to the animals and the surrounding environment! 


Liane Koester's 3rd grade  classroom at Lowell Elementary just completed the Energy Efficiency and Climate Change program. The third graders created energy bolt reminder pledges to take home!  See what other classrooms have done!
