Our Mission
"The Danville-Boyle County Chamber of Commerce exists to advance the prosperity and well-being of the business community, particularly its members, with a goal of improving the quality of life in this community."

Paula's Ponderings
Hello Chamber Members,

Our Annual Celebration, sponsored by Hilliard Lyons, on February 10, was a fun and celebratory evening as we recognized people and businesses in our community. Vince DiMartino, renowned trumpeter, and jazz pianist Dr. Keith McCutchen, entertained attendees.

Congratulations to our award winners pictured below. Please note our sponsors listed in the next box.Their support with our largest fundraiser helps your Chamber to meet budget each year.  It is through our members' investment and fundraisers that we raise the money to do our work on your behalf each year.

Your Chamber also took a first step to bring the community together to tackle our workforce challenges.  Please see that story below.

Finally, as one part of tackling our workforce issues, we are participating in a state wide initiative, called Bridging the Talent Gap, to gather data on work skills shortages.  PLEASE take some time to take the survey. You can save it and come back later to finish.   We want to capture your organization's data to help state policymakers, educational institutions and training providers better understand the urgency of these needs and take action. Your contribution is critical to these efforts.  Thank you for your help!

Sincerely,

Bridging the Talent Gap Survey
The Bridging the Talent Gap survey is being conducted around the state by the Kentucky Society for Human Resource Managers as part of a statewide initiative.

The Bridging The Talent Gap Survey, which will be used to identify organizations' skills shortages across the state of Kentucky, is being administered through Chambers of Commerce and other groups around Kentucky.

While unemployment may be improving, the state of Kentucky is still experiencing a shortage of skilled talent. We want to capture your organization's data to help state policymakers, educational institutions and training providers better understand the urgency of these needs and take action.

IMPORTANT:
It generally takes 30 minutes to complete this survey.  You must finish the survey to be considered a participant. Be sure to "Submit" when finished with the survey.
If you get interrupted with work, no problem!  You will be able to return to the place where you left off by utilizing the "Save and Continue Later" function located at the top of each page of the survey.

When completing the survey, answer the questions based on the skills issues in your local area only. For the purposes of this survey, think of the term "skills shortages" as any instance in which the knowledge, abilities or work place attitude of job applicants or employees is not consistent with the needs of their positions.
