From the Chaplain's Office
Next Wednesday, March 1, is Ash Wednesday. This begins the season of Lent which leads us to Easter. During these 40 days of Lent, we are invited to pray, fast and give alms as a way to "return to God with our whole hearts" (Joel 2:12). On Wednesday, we will have an All-School Liturgy (at Emmanuel starting at 9:45) where we will place ashes on our foreheads as a sign of our commitment to conversion. This ritual calls us to "repent and believe in the Gospel." May this Lent draw us nearer to our Good God who loves us and calls us to Himself.

C.O.P.E. Simulation & College Visits PARENT INVOLVEMENT
Tuesday, Mar. 7 | 8:15 - 11:15 a.m. & 12:00 - 2:50 p.m.
For the fourth year in a row, we are excited to host a Cost of Poverty Experience (C.O.P.E) role-playing simulation on Tuesday, Mar. 7 for our junior class. Every junior will take on the role of real youth in poverty who must deal with the many challenges that exist among families living in poverty. Adult volunteers are needed for two sessions from 8:15 - 11:15 a.m. and 12:00 - 2:50 p.m. Adult volunteers will manage a resource table or help facilitate a small group of juniors as they process this experience. This program can not happen without support of volunteers. If you would like to volunteer for one or both sessions, please contact Kelli Kinnear. The same day, juniors will also visit local college campuses (either Wright State or University of Dayton). Contact AJ Grimm if you are interested in chaperoning this trip.
