Birds of a Feather

The Olympic Peninsula and the Sequim-Dungeness Valley are a rich birding area and are on the path for many migratory birds.  Many outdoor enthusiasts enjoy birding, because of the wonderful places it takes them, like the Dungeness Spit in the above photo.  The National Wildlife Refuge, which runs parallel to the walking path on the Spit, provides habitat for more than 250 species of birds along with 41 species of land mammals and eight species of marine mammals.  The Olympic Peninsula Audubon Society's River Center, located just west of the City of Sequim at Railroad Bridge Park, offers a wealth of information about local bird and wildlife species.  Be sure to stop by on your visit and learn more about local wildlife viewing opportunities.

If you are a birder or are interested in learning more about birding, Sequim and the Olympic Peninsula are a must visit location.  Below are just a few reasons to plan a visit.  Our website can help you find everything you need to plan you trip.
