2016-2017 Training Schedule

** Saturday Leader Specific Trainings are from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
** Friday - Saturday Outdoor Leader Skills Training is overnight from 4 p.m. - 3 p.m.
** Tuesday evening Leader Specific Trainings are done in 2-hour sections and require you to attend both  sessions to receive full credit for being trained.

Council

Blue and Gold Placemats for Sale

The theme for the 2017 Day Camps is "Bug Hunting" and the placemats will reflect that theme.

You can also order your placemats via  email or by calling the receptionist at  (702) 968-8111. We will need to know your name, unit number, the date of your Blue and Gold Banquet and the total number of placemats you need.
Placemats can be picked up from the Reception Desk at the Donald W. Reynolds Scouting Resource Center.


Cub Scout Day Camp

Cub day camp is organized by the council and is a one-to-five day program for Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, and Webelos Scouts. Day camp does not include overnight activities, but can be conducted during the morning, afternoon, and evening hours. Day camps are based on themes and include fun activities in nature, shooting sports, games, aquatics, and crafts. Day camp is lots of fun! 

How can I participate as a parent?
Parents are needed to make every camp a big success! Enjoy the Day Camp with your Cub Scout. Unit leaders and parents will be asked to guide dens as leaders at camp.

February 22, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. (Food will be served at 6:00 p.m.) 
at the Donald W. Reynolds Scouting Resource Center.  


MEGA SCOUT EXPO
Saturday April 22 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs 

 From merit badges to sword fighting and camping in between! Our Friday evening opening ceremonies will be new and exciting. The Merit Badge Midway will again offer an "independent" table for those scouts that have completed the requirements and need only to turn in work. The Webelos Walk will offer new activities and requirements. It's gonna be awesome!

Each Activity Badge will be $7.50 per class if registered by March 27th. 
March 28th through April 14th, the cost increases to $15 per Activity Badge. 
Online Webelos Walk Registration will close on April 14th. No Walk-INS!



CAMPING
If your unit signs up for a booth at the Mega Scout Expo before April 1st and participates at Expo, your unit will receive a $2 per person camping discount after Scout Expo.

The Booth and event areas are open on Saturday, April 22nd, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm.

Mega Scout Expo Supporting Opportunities
This is a great family community event with a lot of Activities, Scouting, Food, Car Show and much more.  With the support of businesses from the community we are able to make this a Event possible for the families.  Please look over the Commercial Booth form and support this Event.

2017 Las Vegas Area Council Annual Dinner Recognition Banquet
Saturday, March 4, 2017 Dinner-6:30 p.m. 
Sam's Town Ballroom $40.00/person

 Each year the Las Vegas Area Council recognizes the unselfish, grass-roots service of its volunteers at an annual dinner in their honor. Twenty key volunteers who have greatly contributed to our ability to expand Scouting across all segments of our society receive the Silver Beaver Award at this event.

Your participation in this dinner will pay special tribute to these deserving Scouters and will underscore the importance of the Scouting program as our council continues a proud history of service to this community. 

Congratulations and Thank You to the following Scouters in our District 
who will be awarded a Silver Beaver at this dinner for their service to the Scouts.

Modifications to Cub Scout Requirements


The BSA just released changes to the new Cub Program Requirements. There were many that could not do all the requirements in the given time so they have made some adjustments.
