We thank Allah, the Most Generous and the Most Loving, for His infinite blessings upon all of us. We would also like to thank each and every one of you for your support to the Shura Council. Your generous support of our 22nd Annual Banquet, Standing United, lead to a successful evening.

We ask that you con tinue supporting the Shura Council in being  THE majority representative for Muslims in Southern California. Please contribute generously  so that we can continue to Stand United as one community with one voice for change.

MUSLIM BAN 2.0
 
Although President Trump has replaced his original Executive Order banning travelers from 7 Muslim-majority countries with one that lists only 6 Muslim-majority counties, it's still problematic.

The EO, which goes into effect on March 16th, will be less catastrophic due to exempting those who already have visas yet it remains unconstitutional.

We encourage you to reach out your Senators to oppose Muslim Ban 2.0 by filling out this online form.

Stand United and show solidarity with your Muslim neighbors by signing up for CAIR's  RegisterMeFirst  website. Large numbers will show the Trump administration just how biased and unconstitutional the EO is.

International Women's Day is today, March 8th. Contrary to the "Muslim women are oppressed" narrative we hear so often, Islam gave women their basic rights centuries before the West did.

Young Rohingya women find no reason to  hide their faces any longer and tell the world what is happening to their homes and loved ones in Myanmar.

Basketball legend, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has a new book coming out Nov. 7th. " Becoming Kareem", is his first memoir written to inspire for young readers.

Muslim women who wear hijab and compete in sports have tried many ways to remain modest and compete at the same time. Nike sportswear will be launching a line of sports hijabs in 2018.
