DDC PERFORMING AT THE DENTON ARTS & JAZZ FESTIVAL!
April 29 at 2:30pm

It has been 3 years since we appeared at the Denton Arts & Jazz Festival and we are so excited to offer this opportunity to perform for our community to our dancers once again!  We only have 1 hour and will try to fit as many dancers as we can into that hour.  Factors that determine whether or not your class will perform are class attendance, choreography completion by the teacher, and overall attention to details by the dancers.  We will determine which classes are performing around the 2nd week of April.  Stay tuned and hope for nice weather!

Ages 12-Adult start April 22nd
Our older dancers will study and learn a production number, singing and dancing, on Saturdays, starting April 22nd, from 11am-1pm.  These dancers will have benefit of a voice coach as well as Ms. Anne Scalf's fabulous choreography.  Our Workshop will culminate in a feature presentation in DDC's upcoming Recital Showcase at Krum High School on June 17th! The tuition for the workshop is $175, which includes a small materials cost, as well as the instructors' fees.

Master Teacher to visit DDC again in April!
Known as one of the most energetic and inspiring teachers across the country, Thom Clower's "evangelistic" approach to teaching has touched the lives and careers of dancers across the country for over 30 years. With extensive training in Vaganova, Balanchine, Cechetti, and Bournonville, Mr. Clower combines the qualities of each one of these styles to present a technique that is true and versatile.

Since 2002, Thom Clower has traveled around the world as a free-lance teacher. Mr. Clower's work has included regional companies and schools, Pittsburgh Ballet Theater, Atlanta Ballet, as a regular guest at Broadway Dance Center, Ballet Master for Tanzsomer, on faculty of Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, and as Associate Ballet Master for Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo on their Australian/New Zealand Tour.  2017 marks the 15th year Mr. Clower visits Denton area dancers at Denton Dance Conservatory, and we are so excited and proud to offer our community this opportunity!

Special THANKS to Mr. Kevin & Ms. Jadah!
4th & 5th Graders at Rivera Elementary performed a hip hop routine choreographed by Mr. Kevin & rehearsed by Ms. Jadah in honor of
Black History Month! The students enjoyed our DDC teachers so much that they gave them a pizza party too!
And a special "Thank You" to Ms. Gloria Mendoza who helped us arrange for Mr. Kevin & Ms. Jadah to work with students from Rivera Elementary on a hip hop routine in honor of Black History Month. This experience was so rewarding for both the teachers AND the students that Ms. Lisa is working with the Faculty and Staff at Rivera Elementary to help set up and sponsor a Dance Club next fall!  We are so excited about the possibilities of working with these students! This program is the first of what Ms. Lisa hopes to be many community-oriented projects to help bring dance to everyone!  Way to go Kevin and Jadah!
