Last month we learned how to select, care for, and maintain an arsenal of crystal tools. Now we'll look into some more advanced techniques of crystal work.

Crystal Balls
The crystal orb is an all-purpose tool that can be used for scrying, projecting thoughts, attracting desired objectives, and healing. Crystal balls come in various sizes, materials, and colors, depending on the purposes for which you intend to use the orb. Spheres made from different crystals and stones, for example, will possess the qualities of the material from which they're made, as well as the projective and attractive properties of a crystal ball.

The size of the ball is an important consideration. A good size for beginners is a 2" (50mm) ball, and as you gain proficiency you can increase the size of ball with which you work.

It surprises many people to learn that crystal balls come in different colors. As Mr. Conlin teaches us, different projection/attraction techniques can be enhanced through the use of harmonizing crystals. His suggestions are:

• Clear Crystal is the universal sender and receiver, useful in all aspects of crystal ball work.

• Aqua or Blue Crystal is employed in health, tranquility, spirituality, and peace work. It is very good for reception but not very powerful for projection.

• Red Crystal is employed for love, sexuality, action, adventure, blood. Mr Conlin remarks that it takes a great deal of passion to send with a red crystal, but, as a receiver, red is a strengthener of the physical and spiritual heart.

• Green Crystal, of course, is used for working with money and business matters. Mr. Conlin remarks it takes someone with a generous heart to be a good sender with green crystals. 

• Yellow, Honey-Amber, or Purple Crystals are employed to work with success, career, personal power, travel, and legal matters. These are good for sending and receiving.

• Black Crystal  is employed to absorb negativity and evil spirits. Mr. Conlin says Black is the "ultimate receiver," and as a sender it requires "Masterful Will."

Crystal Pendulums
The Crystal Pendulum is another tool with a myriad of uses. Pendulums can be used for divination, healing, mediumship, and many other spiritual applications.

The same principles that apply to other crystals apply to pendulums. Pendulums made from different crystals and stones will retain the properties of the materials from which they are made. This makes them ideal tools for diagnosing and treating chakra conditions. If you suspect, for example, an underactive Throat Chakra, you might test it with a pendulum fashioned from Lapis Lazuli or Blue Sodalite.

Crystal pendulums are ideal for healing. Select a pendulum and charge it with healing energies. Circle it over the afflicted area, allowing it to discharge the healing rays.

Another way to combine crystals with pendulums is to use a chamber pendulum. These are pendulums with a hollow chamber in which you can put materials. You can put small pieces of various crystals into the chamber, for example, as well as hair or other personal concerns.

Crystal Wands
Crystal Wands are employed to focus and transfer energy. If the wand is pointed toward the subject, the energy is transferred toward them. If the wand is pointed away from the subject, it absorbs negative energy and sends it away. You can also use wands of various materials for tapping pressure points, therapeutic massage, and reflexology.
