Church alive!
   The Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of New Orleans will welcome 329 new members at the Easter Vigil in April. The March 11 issue of the Clarion Herald takes a look at the Rite of Election last weekend in which the new members affirmed their commitment to enter into full communion with the church next month.  
   
   In his regular column, Archbishop Gregory Aymond reflects on various forms of prayer and offers tips to those who might feel their prayer life is waning. 

   Kate Hennessy, the granddaughter of Dorothy Day, will give a talk at Loyola University on March 23 about how her grandmother's radical embrace of love for the poor revolutionized the Catholic Church in the U.S. 

 
 I n our Holy Smoke Lenten recipe section, students from Brother Martin High School are learning the ins and outs of how to prepare tasty and nutritious meals through their newly formed Culinary Club.
