Cycle Brewing named Best Brewer in Florida and #2 in the world beer

St. Petersburg's Cycle Brewing was recently awarded the title of Best Brewer in Florida and #2 in the world from the online beer rating site, Ratebeer.com. The site allows for hundreds of thousands of beer drinkers from around the world to rate and review beers, making it one of the largest and most credible beer websites.

"We currently serve 12 taps downtown and over the course of the year, we make as many as 30-40 new beers that we try out. Our customers are big fans for the barrel-aged beer and we work hard to create something new for them to taste when they come in. We appreciate that they have faith in it and want it and that's how we have built a reputation in St. Petersburg," says co-owner Doug Dozark. Congratulations to Cycle Brewing!
Forbes ranks Tampa Bay in top places to invest in housing forbes

Forbes ranked the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater MSA as the 7th best place in the country to invest in real estate this year. The ranking analyzed the growth trends and housing indicators of 300 markets to identify the top 20 where buyers can invest with confidence. "These are markets where you can make an investment, you are probably going to get a good return and you are not taking an extraordinary risk," says Ingo Wizner, CEO of Local Market Monitor.

Dallas topped the list while Florida took 4 of the top 10 places. Tampa Bay, which saw home prices grow by 9% last year, placed ahead of many popular markets including Charlotte, Raleigh, San Diego, and Boston.
Complete Streets Public Workshops streets

The City of St. Petersburg adopted a Complete Streets Policy on November 2, 2015 (#020400) to encourage streets that are safe and convenient for all users of the roadway, including persons walking, persons riding bicycles, motorists, persons with disabilities, users and operators of public transit, seniors, children, and movers of commercial goods. The policy outlines the approach and steps the City will pursue to achieve a network of Complete Streets in St. Petersburg, including the creation of a Complete Streets Implementation Plan (Plan) that includes an update of the 2003 Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan as an essential piece of a comprehensive, integrated, and connected network of transportation facilities that fit the land use context.

Public Workshops will be held the week of March 20th throughout the City. The purpose of these public workshops is to gain the public's input on suggested project locations, evaluation criteria, and prioritization. These workshops will give you the chance to prioritize the focus of complete street projects in the City of St. Petersburg for years to come!
