Strider Spotlight
11 Things You Didn't Know About...
9 Things You Didn't Know About Sherry Feathers
  1. If you could do anything you wanted right now, what would it be?  Teaching our youth how to take care of and respect each other.
  2. What are your hobbies?  Driving the Mimi bus, hiking, giving back to the community by working with our youth.  I love working with the Girl Scouts, YMCA, and of course, The Fresh Air Home.
  3. What is one of your favorite quotes?  Love my Winnie the Pooh - "You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think."
  4. Best thing about living in Savannah?  We are so blessed to be able to live in, run, and enjoy our beautiful historical city.  There's so much for us to indulge in - from people watching on River Street, the theater, musicals, to a walk on the beach.
  5. Favorite mode of exercise and why?  Being available for all 7 of my favorites and hiking, when possible.
  6. Who inhabits your residence?  I share my home with my roommate/aka/husband, Reggie, of 51 years and our sweet adopted Weimaraner dog named Thor.
  7. What are the top 3 highlights of your life?  Everyday of my life is a highlight to be able to cope with challenges and goals while enjoying family.
  8. Before I die, I would like to say "I slept in last Saturday..."
  9. What is your favorite memory with Savannah Striders?  One of my favorite memories is when we went hiking.  We had been on the mountain all day, having a great hike, with all the laughter, grunts, and challenges.  Tired, back to the condo...relax, join up for dinner, then sit in front of a roaring fireplace...then begin the game of Twister - can you imaging being physically tangled up with a Strider?  Oh just imagine!  Laughed till we cried!  The fun and companionship is forever a great memory.
Tom Campbell Runs Cuba
"I'm back from Havana and want to give recognition to two companies, one large and one small, that increased the quality of my trip.  The first is JetBlue.  There was no time when the JetBlue experience was anything, but excellent.  The best example of superior service was when after deplaning and going through immigration in Havana, I realized I had left my cell phone on the plane.  Without going through all the details, within minutes, my phone was retrieved and in my hands.  The second company is Fleet Feet Savannah.  I told Chris Ramsey I was going to Cuba and asked him if Fleet Feet had any leftover race shirts that I could give to Cuban runners I might meet. Enthusiastically, he said yes.  The smiles on the recipients of those shirts were a highlight of my trip".

Thanks Tom for sharing your story!
