Week of March 5, 2017
Family Promise Hosting
East Cobb UMC's next opportunity to host Family Promise begins Sunday, March 19th. For that week, we will need volunteers to provide meals, to host our guests by staying overnight, and to help with set and take down. A detailed schedule of volunteer slots can be found on the whiteboard in the Narthex. Please sign up to help as you are able. We can't make this possible without                                                                    our volunteers!
Lenten Bible Study
ECUMC will be offering a Lenten Study entitled No Wonder They Crucified Him onSundays beginning March 5 and running through April 9. There are two different time offerings, one at 9:30 in Annex 3 and one at 6:00 PM in Room 103. This six-session study examines Jesus as not simply meek and mild but as a dangerous man who threatened the status quo - and still does. Take a fresh look at Jesus' call to action. Contact Jim Perry at
jim@eastcobbumc.org to sign up so that sufficient materials can be provided. There is no cost for this study.
Allgood Endowment Fund
The Cynthia Ida Allgood Endowment Fund provides financial assistance to church programming and personnel development. The Allgood Foundation Committee is now accepting 2017 requests for funding. Request forms can be found in the Allgood Foundation mailbox inside the church office. The deadline for turning in request forms is Sunday, March 5th. On March 12th, the committee will meet and review all requests. If you have further questions, you may contact Martha Dobbins, chair of the Allgood Committee, at 770-973-1834.
Family Promise Golf Outing
The second annual Family Promise of Cobb County Golf Outing is scheduled for June 19th, 2017, at the Indian Hills Golf Club. This event raises money to help Family Promise maintain program funding throughout the year. There are many ways to be involved with this event, including sponsoring a golf hole, participating by playing golf, donating items for raffles, and more! If you would like to become involved, please contact Faye Nalls at doc.fay.nalls@gmail.com
