In Memoriam

It is with great sadness and our deepest sympathies that we note the passing of Mrs. Judy Brubaker's father, Elory Lovett. He was 91 and had lived an amazing life. If you wish to send condolences by way of a card, you can send them to Mrs. Brubaker's home address: 20821 Merle Drive, Gaithersburg, MD 20882. Alternately, cards and letters can be dropped in the main office and they will be forwarded to Mrs. Brubaker.

Matsunaga/Longview Art Fair

Thank you to everyone who visited the Annual Art Fair on Friday night. The creativity of our Matsunaga and Longview students is stupendous. Bravos to Ms. Fair, Ms. Jang, and Ms. Schultz for inspiring our students and getting the finished pieces ready to hang at the art fair. A huge thank to Ms. Eileen Lawrence for organizing and running the show.

Did you miss visiting the fair? Please check your student's backpack this week for an order form with an access code to order online. Orders with a check payment can also be sent to school. All orders are due by March 24th. Finished pieces should arrive at school by April 19thand they will be sent home later that week.

Remember these items make great gifts for moms, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles....the list goes on.

Let Me Run REGISTER NOW! Season begins 3/14!

Let Me Run is much more than a running program for boys. The trained coaches combine running with fun activities and lessons to help boys learn teamwork, build relationship skills, create friendships, grow emotionally, amplify their self-esteem, empower themselves and others, and live an active lifestyle. We nurture and celebrate every aspect of what it really means to be a boy and we let them run with it.

Participants: 4 th and 5th grade boys
Meetings: Tuesday and Thursday mornings at Matsunaga from 8:00am - 9:15am.
Season Dates: Begins Tuesday, March 14th and runs for approximately 7 weeks.
We do not meet when school is closed.
5K: Sunday, May 7th
Program Fee: The fee is $115 per student. Register online at www.letmerun.org.

Register For Kindergarten - 4/5, 6

Have a neighbor with a child who is of the age to Kindergarten this fall? According to Maryland State Law, a child must by five years old by September 1, 2017 in order to enter Kindergarten for the 2017-2018 school year.

Kindergarten Orientation for Matsunaga will take place April 5th and April 6th. Please share this information with neighbors who have children eligible for Kindergarten in the fall and ask them to call the main office at 301-601-4350 to make arrangements to register.
