Raven Report: Feb. 22, 2017
Los estudiantes de español colocan en la última competencia del año.
Spanish students placed at final Spanish competition of the year.

On Saturday, February 18th Señora Leighninger accompanied five of her Upper School Spanish students to MSU for the Ozark Hispanic Studies League, the final Spanish competition of the year. Ninth graders Evan and Mackenzie, along with 8th grader Devin and 6th grader Jocelyn, finished up the year with 2nd place in the Culture Bowl. Jacob T., Summit 6th grader, placed 6th in the Vocabulary Competition.  The 2016-2017 school year marked the first time in Summit history that Upper School Spanish students have competed in local Spanish Competitions.
Invite Your Friends to Our Open Houses

Tell your friends, neighbors, colleagues, even the people you meet on the street: The Summit is hosting two open houses at the beginning of March!

Saturday, March 4th from 1-3 p.m.*
Tuesday, March 7th from 9-10 a.m.

Everyone is welcome to stop by, meet our teachers, tour the school, and experience The Summit Difference!

*Note, the Saturday Open House is the same time as Professor Power's Global Warming Camp. Everyone (Summit families, open house attendees, or anyone) is welcome to sign their student(s) up for camp (in advance) and take a tour of The Summit while their kids have fun with Mr. Powers!
Geometry & Math Camp with Ms. Strickland

Don't miss out on the chance to spend part of your summer with Ms. Molly Strickland, The Summit Prep's Upper School Mathematics Teacher. Ms. Strickland is offering TWO Math Camps in 2017: one for Lower School Students and one for Upper School Students.

1st - 5th Graders:  June 5-9, Morning Session, 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
6th - 9th Graders: July 17-21, Morning Session, 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Students will learn geometry concepts through miscellaneous art projects to inspire their love of math and to learn artistic applications of The Summit curriculum. A different project will be made each day, all while learning geometric constructions, the golden spiral, fractals, tessellations, and optical illusions.
Raven Fund: 16-17 Annual Campaign
The Summit, like other independent schools, must raise funds every year to help meet operating costs, since tuition alone never covers the full cost of an independent school education.
