REMINDER: HOW TO REPORT A CLAIM
Property & Casualty

It is critical to report claims in a timely fashion. Failure to report claims in accordance with the terms of your insurance policies may jeopardize your coverage/rights under the policy.
  • GUEST Injury or Damage to a GUEST's Property:
    • Report your claim electronically, at https://claimzone.com/reporter OR report your claim over the phone at 1-866-483-6599.

    • Because any accident involving a guest/ third party may become a claim, RHA members are encouraged to report ALL such events.

    • RHA does not charge a per claim handling fee.
  • AUTOMOBILE Accident Involving RESORT/HOTEL Automobile
    • Report your claim at 1-800-362-0000.
  • Damage to PROPERTY OWNED BY RESORT/HOTEL:
    • Report your claim electronically, at http://www.rhainsure.com/claims/report-a-property-claim

    • You should report all property damage, even if the claim appears to be below your deductible.

    • RHA's preferred vendor for remediation services is BMS CAT (Contact Fehmi Ilkson at 917-941-9157). BMS CAT has been pre-approved by the RHA program carriers.

Republicans now have majority control of both chambers in Congress and President Trump's Administration is ramping up. What changes have already been made to the Affordable Care Act (ACA)? What additional changes are likely to be made as the healthcare delivery system in the U.S. starts undergoing its second significant change in less than a decade?

The fate of the ACA has many possibilities, ranging from repeal to repair. As the legislative strategy continues to evolve, understanding the difference between facts and speculation is crucial for employers struggling to plan for the future.

LOSS CONTROL TOPIC OF THE MONTH
Balcony, Deck, and Pier Safety

March's loss control focus is Balcony/Deck/Pier Safety - and we're not just talking about splinters! The following claims have been reported by RHA members:
  • "Guest fell off balcony when railing gave way"
  • "Multiple guests fell into water when dock collapsed"
  • "Wedding party fell off balcony when railing gave way"
These are real claims, and each one cost RHA members/carriers in excess of $500,000. These types of claims do not happen with frequency; however, when such events do happen, the results can be tragic.

What can you do to prevent such claims from occurring at your property?
Inspect these 5 areas:
    1. Flashing
    2. Fasteners
    3. Wood
    4. Stairs
    5. Railings
