Authors and music and art -- oh my!  From live music to gardening tips, painting to computers, there's a lot going on this month.  Hope to see you soon at the library!
Meet the author!  Club Book presents Jamie Ford

Jamie Ford made waves in 2009 with  Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, a historical fiction debut that charted on the New York Times bestseller list for two full years.  His latest book, Songs of Willow Frost, revisits some of the same settings at the height of the Great Depression.

This FREE event will be held on TUESDAY, March 14th, 7:00-8:00 pm at the Prior Lake Public Library/Club Prior, located at 16210 Eagle Creek Ave. in Prior Lake.  Seating is first-come first served, and doors will open 45 minutes before the program begins. Arrive early to guarantee your spot.

Club Book is a program of the Metropolitan Library Service Agency (MELSA) and is coordinated by Library Strategies, the nonprofit consulting group of the Friends of the St. Paul Public Library. The program is made possible through Minnesota's Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund.

First Thursdays in the Club
March 2nd, 7:00-8:00 pm
Club Prior/Prior Lake Library

In conjunction with Booked: Americana, we present "Northwoods Music with Brian Miller". Many lumberjacks working the north woods in the 1800's were new immigrants from Ireland and Scotland.  Working in the cold snowy north they used songs from home and their new country to create a rich repertoire of new and old songs to tell their many stories.  The music, stories and dance helped the workers through the long and lonely days and nights in the woods.  Their musical heritage will help you pass an enjoyable evening of colorful tunes and stories.
