Learn about Bullet Journaling, Thursday, March 23, 7 pm
If you struggle to stay organized, write yourself  "reminders" only to misplace them, or find that planning and keeping track of everything takes more time than you'd like, it's time to learn about Bullet Journals. Combining the functions of a to-do-list, a planner, and a diary, a bullet journal or 'bujo' (concept conceived by designer Ryder Carroll) is a simple, efficient, and intuitive method for managing everything going on in your life with minimal time and effort. Setting short and long term goals in various aspects of your life be they professional, social, health/fitness, financial and/or personal and tracking your progress over time helps with motivation and provides tangible proof of what you've accomplished, and can take as little as five minutes a day. On March 23 @ 7pm at the library, come and learn more about creating your own bullet journal. Free and open to the public. Note: while some people enjoy using stickers, colored pencils and other decorative elements to express their creative side (and some will be provided, as well as examples), the only two materials required to start are a notebook and a pen, which will be provided by the Library.

Works of artist Patty deGrandpre on display
Patty deGrandpre became an artist by drawing houses without walls; it came naturally to her to focus on what was inside. Her unbound visions from childhood have since grown into mature works of abstract art. Patty's unique compositions and color combinations aim to make the viewers look closer and look again, as she hopes they might discover a little more each time. She often creates her artworks in pairs and families using a combination of paint, pastel, and ink with unconventional mediums such as carbon paper, blue print paper, vellum, drafting film, ammonia, and her typewriter.
Bruins PJ drive February 1 - March 15
The Rowley Public Library has teamed up with the Boston Bruins to participate in their annual pajama drive to benefit DCF Kids and Cradles to Crayons. The PJ Drive's goal is to collect 10,000 pairs of new pajamas for children and teens in need. "It's hard to imagine that so many kids and teens don't know the comforting feeling of putting on PJs before settling down to sleep. We're happy to be part of an effort to change that" said Library Director Pamela Jacobson.
The Boston Bruins PJ Drive runs from February 1 through March 15, 2017. The library will be collecting new pairs of pajamas for babies, children and teens.
