Gauntlet Business Plan Competition
The  Gauntlet:
Bigger & Better This Year

The Advancement Foundation is pleased to announce that the 3rd Annual Gauntlet Business Program and Competition is underway. Botetourt and Roanoke County have joined forces to expand a regional entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Over 65 entrepreneurs are joined in a cohort-working group that meets each week until the end of April to develop their business ideas. Each entrepreneur is studying feasibility, exploring business models and developing their business plan.

Entrepreneurial community flags are going up in  Vinton  to call attention to the community's desire to embrace small business development. You can see these same flags in Buchanan.

The Advancement Foundation leverages resources from across the community in order to build collaboration that encourages small business development. "The Advancement Foundation is committed to providing comprehensive support for our entrepreneurs. We have partners in Botetourt and Roanoke County Economic Development Departments, the Small Business Development Center, Virginia Tourism, Virginia's Department of Housing and Community Development and many local businesses.

The most recent classes focus on evaluation of each business's visibility. The community is being asked to participate in potential customer interviews in order to receive unbiased feedback.

Keep posted via Facebook, Twitter, newsletters and various media outlets!
