Learn about opportunities with Literacy Nassau, a
Long Island nonprofit organization that trains literacy volunteers to work with adult learners (ages 18 and older).
Volunteers are trained and supported by Literacy Nassau throughout the year.
Opportunities include:
1:1 Basic literacy tutoring for English language learners;
Small group instruction;
Advanced English as a second language tutoring;
Naturalization and citizenship literacy support services;
Writing clubs;
Book clubs.

Engage with The Interfaith Nutrition Network
|
Volunteer at The Mary Brennan INN Soup Kitchen
Each month a group of Engage community members volunteer together at the soup kitchen. Volunteers work in food pantry and clothing pantry and assist with lunch meal service. This is an opportunity that may require lifting and being on your feet for long periods of time.
Spots limited and filled on a first reserve basis.
Please reserve early. You will receive a confirmation letter with a detailed explanation of the day.

Volunteer to Deliver Passover Packages to Families in Need
Wednesday, April 5, 2017
beginning at
1pm
Volunteers needed to pickup Passover packages prepared by Great Neck Hunger Initiative and deliver to a family in need on Long Island or Queens. Delivery routes, including directions, will be assigned on a first come first serve basis.

Did you know?
There are high school teenage girls who struggle with the cost associated with attending prom. Help us make this milestone extra special for them!
Please drop off prom and dressy dresses and evening accessories
Donations support Long Island Volunteer Center's annual Prom Boutique.
All dresses must be freshly cleaned and on hangers.
