providing educational workshops and seminars, recreational and social opportunities, as well as regular fitness sessions based on current treatment, research and available resources.

Varies week to week, but this is usually at Hilltop or Kincaid.

Healing Yoga - Wasilla

Cost: AMSC will pay $5/class, while the participant is asked to donate further.

Iditarod Ceremonial Start

Enjoy watching sled dogs and mushers for the Anchorage kickoff to The Last Great Race, but bundle up with temps projected to be 0 to 5 above. The restart will be in Fairbanks the following Monday with temps of -20 to -25.

Adaptive, fun and beneficial to your health! The leader adjusts the class to the abilities of the participants. All poses can be done in a chair.

NMSS Program - "RESILIENCE"

This will be a DVD presentation on resilience to help create a mindset of growth and opportunities, plus of seeing obstacles as challenges versus threats.

The group discussion afterward will be lead by Antonia Fowler, LPT and MS Specialist/Programs Director at the Alaska MS Center.


Daylight Saving Time

We turn the clocks forward one hour on Sunday at 2am or at bedtime on Saturday, March 11th. Also, you will only lose an hour sleep if you sleep one hour less.
However, we will have more evening sun to enjoy. Anchorage sunrise will go from 7:27 to 8:24am and sunset will jump from 6:52 to 7:55pm.
