Kamehameha Feasibility Study
Urbane Development partnered with ESI on behalf of Kamehameha Schools, a private charitable educational trust, to analyze the current local food economy and food-manufacturing ecosystem in urban Honolulu, Hawaii. This study assessed the feasibility of creating a shared food manufacturing facility on the island. Check out the full story

Drexel / ESI Urban Economic Policy Conference on Tax Policy
ESI and the Drexel School of Economics will have their 2nd annual joint conference on April 17 discussing topics on urban tax policy. There will be two panel discussions over the course of the afternoon: (1) Topics in Tax Administration; and (2) Tax Policy and Economic Development. RSVP for the event here.

Philadelphia Youth Basketball Summer Camp
Registrations are out for Philadelphia Youth Basketball (PYB) summer camps! ESI President, Richard Voith, is a board member for the youth organization, which creates opportunities for young people to develop their potential as students, athletes, and engaged citizens through participation in community basketball. ESI welcomes Christopher Swann and Bernard Markstein as our new senior advisors. 
  • Christopher Swann, Ph.D., is an economist, currently engaged in applied economic research and private consulting, and is an adjunct instructor in economics at both Temple University and Drexel University.
  • Bernard Markstein, Ph.D., is the President and Chief Economist at Markstein Advisors, an economic consulting company providing analysis and forecasts of the national economy and construction activity. Dr. Markstein's experience includes analysis and research in housing, residential and nonresidential construction, real estate, financial markets, macroeconomic issues, and regional markets.
Joel Naroff  was named Top Forecaster, of 100 economists at Pulsenomics 2015 Crystal Ball Award. 

Chistophe Terlizzi was quoted in an article from Philly.com about the new 30th Street Station developments.

Brett Mandel composed a recent blog post about the negative impacts of poor tax policies by the city of Philadelphia on the economically disenfranchised.
