This year's theme, Rich City Blues, honors Richmond's cultural past as a hub for blues, jazz, and zydeco in the 1940s. We're celebrating the arts renaissance of Richmond!
This "happy hour" style event is an opportunity for community members to experience first hand the exciting and interactive programs our youth enjoy at RYSE. This event is for adults age 21 or over.
At 'Be A Kid' you'll get a sneak peek of 'Richmond Renaissance,' RYSE's youth-led theatrical production premiering on May 6th and 7th at the El Cerrito High School Performing Arts Theater.
The play is set in a Black-owned juke joint in 1940s North Richmond, where Blues and love inspire communal growth.
