CHAMBER
ON TAP

Thursday, Mar 23, 2017

We are excited to host Victor Moroz at our March Chamber on Tap Mixer who will be interviewed in a very casual and conversational format by our sponsor Dean Chapman of Frontline Financial.

Mr. Moroz has sold commercial real estate for over 10 years with over 35 years in the Spruce Grove, Stony Plain and Parkland area.  Additionally, he is a developer offering insightful knowledge to his clients and their situation.
He has built solid working relationships throughout the region.  As well, he and his real estate team have been continually engaged in the community as members of the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club of Spruce Grove, and have provided countless volunteer hours for our community.

Mr Moroz's story will be shared just like our growing list of past guests.  These are business owners right here in our community who discuss their start up, failures, what they've learned, and how they have achieved success.

Our private section at The Canadian Brewhouse in Spruce Grove opens at 4:30 pm and the interview is from 6:00 until 6:30 pm.

Be inspired. Build your network. Save Money!

How to become a trade show superstar
Trade shows can be a substantial investment, but they offer your company an impressive payoff. Here's how to make your booth the star of the show and your time a fruitful investment

Mar 6, 2017  by Alberta Venture Staff

Tracey Moore's father used to run a trade show service company, so when she founded Exhibit Studio 10 years ago he began to pass down his hard-learned wisdom. One lesson that stuck with her was to treat every customer with the same level of respect, whether they're spending $500 or $50,000. That's come in handy as Exhibit Studio, which began as more of a boutique company, came to sell trade show booths whose price tags ran from one extreme to the other - from little more than a table and banner to gigantic, interactive $100,000 exhibits. Just as they both deserve the same respect, they both serve the same function, too. "Trade shows give you the face-to-face, and they allow you to develop the relationship potential that a lot of other mediums just don't," Moore says. "You've got five seconds, maybe seven seconds, to get someone's attention, and if there's a row of 20 booths, you need people to see who you are and what you're doing, otherwise they'll just keep on walking by."
With that goal in mind, here are some more tips for making the most of your next trade show.... continue reading

Alberta government says new capital investment tax credit will spur job growth  The Alberta government says the $75-million credit will lead to $700 million in investments and "support thousands of direct and indirect jobs."

The Alberta government is hoping a new tax credit for capital investments will help spur job growth.

Under the Capital Investment Tax Credit, announced today, companies that invest in equipment, machinery and buildings could receive a 10 per cent non-refundable tax credit of up to $5 million.

"Large-scale capital investments in our province don't just spur job creation, they also create spin-off economic benefits in communities throughout Alberta," said Economic Development and Trade Minister Deron Bilous in a statement.
