Hello from the Duke of Ed Manitoba! Now that March has arrived, Spring Break is fast approaching! This break from classes is a great opportunity to catch up on logging hours in the Online Record Book. Online Record Book Scheduled Maintenance

The Online Record Book will be down from March 22-24/17 for maintenance. We apologize for the inconvenience, however, this is a necessary step as we move closer to our new and updated ORB 2.0!
The Duke of Ed and Hudson's Bay Giving Day:

  • At The Bay in St. Vital Mall (St. Mary's Entrance) Sunday March 19 from 1 to 5 pm
Adventurous Journey Opportunities

Please note that the deadlines for commitments and payments are now significantly earlier so plan ahead.

Silver Canoe Trip -  May 19-22  Camp Nutimik
Cost: $357(includes taxes).  Must be at camp by 6 pm May 19th.
Where: Paddling on Lone Isle and Malloy Lake.
Deadline for registration is April 18th.

Bronze Canoe Trip  June 9-11 Pioneer Camp
Cost $207.90 (GST included).  Drop off on Friday is 7:30pm, pick up on Sunday is 2pm.
Where:  Shoal Lake, Lake of the Woods 
Deadline to register is May 19th. 

Bronze Canoe Trip  June 16-18 Pioneer Camp
Cost $207.90 (GST included).  Drop off on Friday is 7:30pm, pick up on Sunday is 2pm.
Where:  Shoal Lake, Lake of the Woods 
Deadline to register is May 24th.

Gold Canoe Trip - Aug 28 - Sep 1  Camp Nutimik. 
Cost: $515.50 (includes taxes).  Must be at camp by 10 am Aug 28th and pick up 3 pm on Sep 1st.
Where: Paddling from Caddy Lake to Lone Isle Lake route.
Deadline for registration July 27th.

Bronze Canoe Trip Sep 29 - Oct 1  Camp Nutimik
Cost: $243.60 Drop off at 6 pm on Sep 29, pick up at 3 pm on Oct 1
Where: Paddling Whiteshell River (White Lake to Betula Lake) 
Deadline for registration is August 25th

Please note the deadline for registration for Adventurous Journey Trips is 30 days prior to the start of the trip.

Volunteer Opportunities

The Duke of Ed is looking for volunteers to sell tickets at St. Vital Mall ahead of their Giving Day event. 

Volunteers are needed: Friday, March 17 between 2pm and closing and Sunday March 19 from 1-5 pm. Selling shifts would likely be 2 hours in length, but you are welcome to sign up for longer shifts if you wish!

Volunteering for the Duke of Ed is a great way to log service hours for your Award progress!

Thank You Electronic Recycling Association!

We would like to thank the Electronic Recycling Association for their donation of six recycled laptops. These laptops will be loaded with language software, and will help some of our participants who do not have ready access to computers learn a second language for their Skill section.
