She serves as a graduate assistant for the Center for Physical Activity and Health. She also serves as a research assistant in the Pediatric Exercise Physiology Lab where she studies physical activity assessment in youth, nature based behaviors and physical activity, and the impact of physical activity on executive function in children and adolescents.  Ashlyn received a student research award at the regional SEACSM conference for her thesis study: Playground and Garden Activity Levels in Young Children. Honors Scholar, Madison Hupp, Receives Prestigious Travel Award

Madison Hupp will be graduating from the University Honors Program at KSU as an Honors Scholar in spring 2017. She was recently awarded with Victoria Finnerty Undergraduate Travel Award . This award, which honors the memory of Victoria Finnerty, supports travel costs for undergraduates engaged in research to attend the 58th Annual Drosophila  Research Conference.

One of the significant benefits of being an Honors student are the meaningful connections you build with the Honors faculty. Madison was particularly close with Dr. Liza Davis during her time in the University Honors Program. She remembers her time in Dr. Davis' class fondly and says, "I find myself applying different topics we discussed to real life situations, so it's as if the class is ongoing! I am extremely grateful that I was able to have Dr. Davis as a professor for multiple classes and learned invaluable information in both that I will take with me through life."
