Events for March 13-26
 
In Fragmentos, March 24-26, Alice Blumenfeld and Esteban Garza will create an intimate, cutting-edge flamenco experience that includes poetry, spoken word and dance. Original music by Alex Conde (Piano-Valencia, Spain), Joaquín Gallegos (Guitar-Santa Fe, NM) and Guillermo Barrón (Percussion-Monterrey, México).

As part of the Women and Creativity series, on March 23 at 5:30 pm, artist Cynthia Cook will lead a hands-on workshop inspired by her work and artistic techniques, which are featured in the NHCC Art Museum's exhibition Fantasía Fantástica: Imaginative Spaces and Other-Worldly Collage.
The Revolutions International Theatre Festival at the NHCC

March 17-19, see Uganda's Ndere Troupe in Obuntu Pearls, a celebration of "the beauty in humanity." On March 23, see Colombia's Picnic in TRI-CICLO. After a conversation with the audience, this group will improvise unforgettable characters and situations.
La Canoa Legacy Talks: Humor and Healing: Cantinflas (Mario Moreno) Classic Screen Moments
 
Join A. Gabriel Meléndez, recently appointed director of UNM's Center for Regional Studies, as he takes us on a fun and insightful journey through the life of Mexican actor Mario Moreno and his beloved character "Cantinflas," March 18 at 2 pm.

This month's ¡Salud y Sabor! on March 16 at 5:30 pm will be a free evening of cooking demonstrations, art activities, health screenings, and live entertainment with food and entertainment inspired by Colombia. 

Join us for our monthly Colcha Community Stitch-Along March 17 at 9:30 am or come to a free Thursday film featuring documentaries from Instituto Cervantes' "Espacio Femenino" program and from New Mexico PBS. There's also still time to see Hembras de Pluma in Rise: An Offering that addresses generations of resilience, triumph, pain, and navigating the world as women.
Recurring Events: Cuban Salsa and Bilingual Story Time

Every Tuesday is Cuban salsa dancing at the NHCC: 6 pm for beginners or 7 pm if you're more advanced. On March 23 at 10 am, bring your infant and preschool-aged children to bilingual story hour in the NHCC Library.

Join the 24th annual César Chávez Day celebration with a march followed by a family fiesta that includes poetry, dancing, community exhibits, children's activities and games, food, a keynote speech by Dolores Huerta, and live music.
Aliento: Dzul Dance Company
May 5
Tickets: $12, $17, $22 ($2 discount for students, seniors & NHCC members)

Dzul Dance fuses dance with aerial arts, contortion, and acrobatics to communicate indigenous pre-Hispanic, Mexican and Latin culture and create bridges between contemporary art and historical heritage. They will be at the NHCC May 5.

Festival Chispa: New Latin Music & Hispanic Culture

Tickets: $27 in advance; $32 at the door

A celebration of New Latin music and Hispanic culture that will include Latin alternative band Las Cafeteras, Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter Gaby Moreno, and Abq's own Rebecca Arscott, with her own blend of roots-to-reggae.
