Youth Prevention Universal Represents at County Health Fair
Every year the Nueces County Medical Society hosts a health and fitness fair open to the community. Guests have the opportunity to receive free health screenings and tests and learn more about all kinds of health resources available in our community.

Drug and alcohol prevention is such a vital component to a healthy future and our YPU program was out in full force to make sure everyone was aware of the dangers of substance abuse.  The Council's TPCC and PPI programs were on hand as well.

Tobacco Prevention & Control Coalition Knows the Way to Sustainability
For TPCC, youth is the key to having a viable impact on the future which is why Nueces Youth Against Tobacco (NYAT) is such a huge component of the program.
One of NYAT's members and long time ally, Carlos Vela, testified before Texas' Senate Finance Committee urging them not to cut funding for tobacco prevention services in Texas. Carlos is also a Teen Ambassador for Tx SAY WHAT and a senior at Ingleside High School. The future of substance abuse prevention is brighter because of young people like Carlos and we applaud his unwavering efforts to better our community.
TX SAY WHAT and TPCC are hosting a summit for youth in Corpus Christi on April 8. Click here for more information about registering your teens for this free summit.
