ALSO IN THE REGION 
There's plenty to see while in New England for the CAJM conference. Two CAJM member institutions are opening their doors before and after the conference. Mayyim Hayyim Living Waters Community Mikveh and Education Center in Newton, MA invites CAJM colleagues to tour or experience an immersion. To schedule, call 617-244-1836 ext.1 or email Lisa Berman. THE CURRENT CLIMATE
CAJM extends its support and solidarity to colleagues at Jewish museums and cultural centers that have been subject to threats and anti-Semitic acts in recent weeks. For more news, see CAJM's homepage.

 
THREE EXHIBITS FROM POLAND
One of CAJM's newest affiliates, the Galicia Jewish Museum, has three exhibitions available for booking: an exhibit of drawings by Ryszard Apte, a young artist who perished in the Holocaust (right); photographs showing the 
Joint Distribution Committee
's century of work in Poland; and a traveling version of the museum's core exhibition, Traces of Memory: A Contemporary Look at the Jewish Past in Poland. Visit the Traveling Exhibitions page of CAJM's website for further details.

 
DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION 
The American Alliance of Museums has just published its Trendswatch 2017 (available for download), including a section on Reshaping the World: Migration, Refugees, and Forced Displacement. Also, this coming Thursday, March 16, from 2 to 3 pm, AAM's EdCom has scheduled a special  webinar with presenters from the  National Museum of African American History and Culture and the Saint Louis Art Museum to suggest ways that museums can play a role in creating a more inclusive society.

 
SUPPORT THE NEA AND THE NEH 
Make sure your representatives in Congress know how important these agencies are to your museum, whether or not you have benefitted from a Federal grant. The AAM has provided a simple template. And to inspire your advocacy efforts further, see Ivy Barsky's essay on Jewish Museums as Catalysts for Community, recently published in ePhilanthropy.

 
MASHA GESSEN TO SPEAK FOR CAJM
On March 21 at the CAJM conference we look forward to featuring noted journalist, author and activist Masha Gessen. See some of her recent work here and here to learn more and prepare yourself for this special opportunity. 

 
NEW ART RESOURCE THROUGH LBI
