Members of the community and local Scouters will gather on March 22, 2017 at the Dan Beard Council's largest fundraiser, the Good Scout Award Luncheon. The event will honor Bank of America Merrill Lynch with the Good Scout Award for its community efforts in supporting local youth. Highly decorated American Astronaut, Captain Mark Kelly, will be the keynote speaker for the event. The Camp Card Sale has been designed to help Scouts earn their way to summer camp! The Camp Card is a “discount card” that offers deals at area businesses to the purchaser. The purchase price of a Camp Card is $10.00, and participating Scouts will earn 50% for each card they sell!

Help provide the best customer service and administrative skills for Dan Beard Council as a full-time Institutional Advancement Assistant. Responsibilities include direct mail solicitation, donor communication, maintain filing and record-keeping systems, data entry and other support functions. Competitive compensation includes a full benefit package and generous PTO.

Camp Cleanup Days are an great way for boys to earn service hours while working to conserve our camp properties. Only through continued service can we ensure that the beautiful and natural areas of the Dan Beard Scout Reservation are preserved for future youth. Groups that participate learn about lake ecosystems and help create a healthy environment for the plants and animals that share our camps.

2017 College of Commissioner Science - 03/18/2017
The College of Commissioner Science will provide the supplemental training to aid the commissioners in providing outstanding unit service.  It is recognized that commissioners are key to the continued health and growth of the units in the council.

Over 300 Scouts Honored at Eagle Scout Court of Honor
The Dan Beard Council, Boy Scouts of America recognized over 300 local Eagle Scouts and awarded the 2016 Eagle Scout Project of the Year at the Cincinnati Masonic Center on Saturday, February 11 during the Eagle Scout Court of Honor ceremony. The Cincinnati Reds Chief Operating Officer, Phil Castellini, was the honoree.

Jewish Scouts and Scouters gathered to welcome Shabbat
On February 17, The Dan Beard Council Jewish Committee on Scouting hosted a Scout Shabbat at Congregation Beth Adam in Loveland, Ohio. This was the first of its kind in a long time. Jewish Scouts and Scouters gathered to welcome Shabbat. Rabbi Barr lead a discussion on how the Scout Law pertains to the Jewish people. New friends were made and scouting brought people closer together. At a time when so many are so divided on so many issues, it's comforting to know that Scouting is still a force in bridging gaps and finding common ground.”

Brown, Western and Southern Financial Group Board of Directors member, and Harry Black, City Manager of The City of Cincinnati were recognized for their involvement in helping to create a better environment for youth in low income or rural neighborhoods with use of Scouting or other programs.
