Want to Volunteer?
 
We have an immediate need for volunteers in the following programs:
  
Pamper & Prayer:  Nurses, CNA's and administrative support volunteers needed to assist at monthly foot care clinics. Typically held the 3rd 
Thursday evening each month. Must be comfortable interacting with patients in a spiritual setting.
   
Needs Assessment:  Administrative support volunteers needed to help process paperwork and enter new patient data. Computer/data entry skills and an eye for detail needed
  
Mental Health: Licensed therapists to provide short term client counseling. Particular need for male counselors to provide care and comfort to our male clientele
  
Summer Intern:  Opportunity for client interaction while conducting Intake & Assessment interviews with those seeking HFHC services. More information in next months issue.

HFHC hosting Diabetes Alert Day open-house
 
On Tuesday, April 11, HFHC's will host its 6th Annual Diabetes Alert Day. Stop by this free event between 10:30am-1:30pm for diabetic health information including management and healthy lifestyle tips, blood  glucose testing, urine protein screening, blood pressure checks, BMI calculation and diabetic home foot care demonstrations.
 
At 11:30am guests are invited to enjoy a diabetic friendly cooking demonstration provided by local registered dietician and personal chef, Jen Plaggemars. Samples and recipes will be provided. There will also be a representative to help individuals apply for Medicaid. HFHC is happy to welcome back our community partner Walgreen's and the Holland Farmer's Market. In addition to the many give-a-ways, guests will also have the opportunity to win a free diabetic cookbook. 
Great Food for a Great Cause!

Our bi-annual event "Eat Bread to Raise Dough" will be held at Panera Bread (3067 West Shore Drive, Holland)  on April 11 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. W hen you show this flyer (printed or electronic version) a  percentage of your dinner purchase will go toward programs and services at HFHC. 
 
Support your favorite nonprofit and l et Panera Bread do the cooking - it's never been easier! Bring your friends, family, and a flyer and gather around the table for delicious bread-bowls, sandwiches, soups, and salads. Donate a Smile: A Campaign to Secure Health Programs for the Underserved

It's that time of year again! Our annual Donate a Smile Campaign will begin with a kick-off event on Thursday, April 27, 2017. This critical effort will ensure HFHC continues to be an integral part of the local health care system by providing basic services to people who would otherwise go without care.
