New Artists 2017 | March 9-April 14. This is the 38th consecutive year that the Art Museum has hosted this juried exhibit of works by area high school students. The exhibit is organized by the Epsilon Chapter of Tri Kappa.

Adirondack Allure: Plein Air Paintings by Ron Burgess and Rick Wilson | March 10-June 4. Burgess and Wilson often paint outside together. Burgess is a Lafayette native who teaches at the Art Museum. Wilson is a native of Edinburgh, Indiana.

  Art of the Endowmen t | Through June 4 | This exhibit focuses on the power of endowment and features permanent collection works purchased by the Art Museum with funds provided by the Connie F. and Richard E. Grace Endowment Fund.

An opening reception for the New Artists 2017 exhibit will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. March 9. Awards will be presented at 7 p.m.
 
Adirondack Allure opening reception
An opening reception for the Adirondack Allure: Plein Air Paintings by Ron Burgess and Rick Wilson exhibit will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. March 10. The reception is hosted  by the Museum's Art League.
 
Friday Night Live!
March's Friday Night Live will be Songs of the Heartland, featuring traditional and original music by Denise Wilson and Michael Lewis. It will be from 7 to 8 p.m. March 31. Admission to Friday Night Live is free thanks to sponsors Jim and Sandy Bodenmiller and Purdue Federal Credit Union.

The Art Museum is running a series of textile workshops through March. The March workshops are:  Slow Stitching: Sashiko, Boro with Cherry Delaney, 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 4.
 
Gelli Printing Workshop with Jennifer Reitmeyer, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, March 18. Bring a brown-bag lunch.

   ART LEAGUE
The Art League will hold a luncheon
at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, in the Museum's Shook Gallery. Jeri Foley, whose work appeared in the  New Artists Exhibit , will talk about how art has affected her life and about her current artistic pursuits.
 
The Art League will take a field trip to the Bindery Artist Studios in downtown Lafayette at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 21.

Upcoming  The 2nd Century Club's annual spring tour will take a look at the art and architecture of South Bend on June 21. Club members will join Museum Executive Director   K endall Smith and Sharon Theobald on this exclusive behind-the-scenes tour to the South Bend Museum of Art, Century Center and the University of Notre Dame Snite Museum of Art.  After a comfortable 55-passenger motor coach ride, lunch will at the Tippecanoe Place restaurant in the historic Studebaker Mansion. Then the group will join Executive Director Susan Visser for a tour of the South Bend Museum of Art in Century Center on the St. Joseph River. That will be f ollowed by a visit to the Snite Museum, led by Associate Director Anne Knoll. The group will depart at 9:30 a.m. and arrive back home at 6 p.m. Tickets are $65, including lunch and transportation and are available at

2nd Century Club members, who contribute $1,000 or more annually to the Art Museum, are invited to an annual private behind-the-scenes art tour to another location; a club members-onl y annual dinner; private champagne exhibition previews and meetings with the artists; priority invitations to Art Museum special events and tours.
