I Am George Washington
Miss Jane recommends I Am George Washington by Brian Meltzer

Part of the "Ordinary People Change the World" series, I am George Washington, by Brad Meltzer and illustrated by Christopher Eliopoulos introduces young readers to the father of our country and a fine how-do-you-do it is! Young George -- wearing the familiar tricorne hat throughout -- tells his story through the lens of being first and the courage it takes to try something new. George takes us through the high points of his life, debunks a few myths, springs a surprise (he likes to dance!) and relates a lot of early American history along the way in a breezy, easy-to-read style that combines straight text and cartoon bubbles. This book -- along with the others in the series: Amelia Earhart, Rosa Parks, Albert Einstein, Jackie Robinson, among others - is a wonderful addition to the collection.
