Dear friends,

Hunger has so many faces, and thankfully, many advocates working to end it anywhere and everywhere. People from all over the world creatively and compassionately respond to hunger that is sometimes so heartrending it takes your breath away. Beyond physical hunger is hunger for place; for meaningful work; for a chance to grow, to learn, to belong, to influence, to change, to make a difference.

Our annual Prevent Hunger campaign aligns each year with the Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign to keep our food shelf stocked with healthy and culturally appropriate food for the 4,485 people we serve each year. Prevent Hunger also funds services such as family support and employment that are designed to head off hunger in all the ways it is experienced.

Beyond addressing what is often a temporary or supplemental food need, there is no better hunger prevention strategy than providing access to a good education, a living wage job, and the training and skills needed to secure it. We're so proud of and grateful for the community-wide resolve that no one in our community goes hungry - not even for a day - and that "beyond the basics" hunger prevention in all of its manifestations is our community's ongoing and every day action agenda.

Heartfelt thanks to all the scouts and schools, local food vendors, civic and community groups, corporations and faith communities, neighborhoods and volunteers for continuing to move this life-changing agenda forward. Read on for ways to become engaged.
