Is your website responsive? Meaning, does the content on your webpage transform to the size of the device that's viewing it? In 2016, mobile internet usage surpassed desktop usage for the first time, and trends show that the divide will continue to grow. Your members are mobile ... your website should be, too. If your website is not responsive in design, ask your provider about upgrading you, or find a vendor that can address the need.
ASSOCIATE MEMBER UPDATES
Cal Duke Publishing
Cecil Strickland, legendary Account Executive with Cal Duke Publishing for more than 35 years, passed away on February 1 after battling pancreatic cancer for several months.  Cecil  was a senior superlative and played football and track at Albany High School, graduating from there in 1965. He later graduated with a degree in Chemistry at the University of Georgia.  He began a career in sales for Cal Duke Publishing about 15 years later and probably served more than 40 communities over the years.  According to Cal Duke, "Cecil was loved by clients...His 'can do' positive attitude and sincerity earned him many friends over the years and he will be dearly missed. GA Small Business Week has a date change! It is now March 13 - 17, 2017. As you  know, we moved the ROCK STARS awards luncheon from February to March, mainly for two reasons:  1) that third Monday in February is a holiday for a lot of people and 2) there always seems to be an ice event during that week! We thought we'd keep GA Small Business Week in February but soon realized that we do want the ROCK STARS event to kick off the week as it always has in the past.  So to that end, GA Small Business Week will now be the third week of March and in 2017, those dates are March 13-17. The ROCK STARS luncheon is March 13. So please send us your activity so we can fill the site with exciting news from all over Georgia:

GPEE
March is "Get Georgia Reading Month," providing an opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of reading proficiency in a child's life.  The Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education is joining the lead efforts of the Georgia Family Connection Partnership and the Get Georgia Reading Campaign to spread the critical message that children must have reading proficiency before they enter fourth grade.  As pointed out on the Get Georgia Reading web site, through third grade, children are learning to read.  When they enter the fourth grade they are reading to learn and if they are struggling at that stage, it will impact their learning success in the grades ahead. We use the program Hootsuite to send out our social media info. You can put a social media post into one site, and it will send out to the different social media sites you use (FB, Twitter, Instagram...)  We love it, because we don't have to repeat the post for the different social media outlets we use.  You can also schedule when you want the post to go out. This is a huge time saver!
